Chuck Cooper a remporté le Tony Award du meilleur second rôle masculin en 1996 pour son interprétation de Memphis dans *The Life*. Sa carrière à Broadway inclut également *Chicago*, *Passion*, *Someone to Watch Over Me*, *Rumors*, *Amen Corner*, *Getting Away With Murder* et *Badfoot* dans *St. Louis Woman* (série Encore du City Center).
