Masamune Shirow, de son vrai nom Masanori Ota, est un mangaka de renommée internationale né le 23 novembre 1961. Il est surtout connu pour le manga Ghost in the Shell, qui a été adapté en deux films d'animation au cinéma, deux séries télévisées animées, un téléfilm animé et plusieurs jeux vidéo.
