Ariane Louis-Seize

Ariane Louis-Seize is een Canadese filmregisseur en scenarioschrijver uit Quebec. Haar debuutfilm 'Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person' (Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant) ging in première op het 80ste Internationale Filmfestival van Venetië in 2023. Voor deze film won ze prijzen op het Calgary International Film Festival, het Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival, de Directors Guild of Canada, het Festival du nouveau cinéma, het Internationale Filmfestival van Venetië en het Windsor International Film Festival. Ze is ook bekend om haar kortfilms 'Wild Skin' (La Peau sauvage), die genomineerd was voor een Canadian Screen Award voor Beste Live Action Kortdrama en voor een Prix Iris voor Beste Kortfilm, en 'Little Waves' (Les petites vagues), die in 2018 op de jaarlijkse Canada's Top Ten-lijst van het Toronto International Film Festival stond. Haar kortfilm 'The Depths' (Les profondeurs) ging in première op het Toronto International Film Festival 2019 en won het Publieksprijs voor Beste Kortfilm op het Cinéfest Sudbury. In 2020 volgde 'Shooting Star' (Comme une comète). In 2024 won Louis-Seize de Jay Scott Prijs van de Toronto Film Critics Association voor opkomend talent in de Canadese filmindustrie.
