Chris Butler (geboren op 12 februari 1974) is een Engelse animator, scenarioschrijver en regisseur, vooral bekend van zijn werk bij Laika, zoals 'ParaNorman' en 'Missing Link', die beide werden genomineerd voor een Academy Award voor Beste Geanimeerde Film. Hij studeerde animatie aan de University for the Creative Arts in Zuid-Engeland en is een oud-student van Hugh Baird College in Merseyside. Op 1 mei 2024 werd bevestigd dat Butler het scenario zal schrijven voor de aanstaande live-action film 'Masters of the Universe', die gepland staat voor release op 5 juni 2026.
