Frank Fontaine is een Canadese acteur en schrijver, geboren in Montreal, Quebec, en opgegroeid in de staat New York en Engeland. Hij begon zijn universitaire opleiding aan de Georgetown University in Washington D.C., maar stopte abrupt om naar Londen te gaan en de Royal Academy of Dramatic Art te volgen. Zijn televisie- en toneelstukken The Great Bergen, The Monster, The Great Symphonic Adventure, The Inquest en Others zijn geproduceerd door de CBC.
