Jake Gyllenhaal (geboren op 19 december 1980) is een Amerikaanse acteur en producent. Hij komt uit de Gyllenhaal-familie; zijn vader is regisseur Stephen Gyllenhaal, zijn moeder scenarioschrijver Naomi Foner, en zijn oudere zus is actrice Maggie Gyllenhaal. Hij begon als kind met acteren en maakte zijn debuut in 'City Slickers' (1991). Doorbraakrollen volgden in 'October Sky' (1999) en 'Donnie Darko' (2001). Hij verwierf grote bekendheid met rollen in films als 'The Day After Tomorrow' (2004), 'Brokeback Mountain' (2005) – waarvoor hij een BAFTA won – en latere succesvolle projecten zoals 'Zodiac' (2007), 'Nightcrawler' (2014) en 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' (2019). Ook heeft hij op Broadway gestaan en is hij actief in politieke en sociale kwesties.
