James Edward Franco (geboren op 19 april 1978) is een Amerikaanse acteur en filmmaker. Hij werd genomineerd voor een Academy Award voor Beste Acteur voor zijn rol in '127 Hours' (2010). Franco is bekend van films zoals de 'Spider-Man'-trilogie van Sam Raimi (2002–2007), 'Milk' (2008), 'Eat, Pray, Love' (2010), 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (2011), 'Spring Breakers' (2012) en 'Oz the Great and Powerful' (2013). Hij werkt vaak samen met acteur Seth Rogen, onder meer in 'Pineapple Express' (2008), 'This Is the End' (2013), 'Sausage Party' (2016) en 'The Disaster Artist' (2017), waarvoor hij een Golden Globe won.
