John McLeish werd in 1916 geboren in Montreal, Quebec, Canada als John Fraser McLeish. Hij was een acteur en schrijver, bekend van zijn werk aan 'Fantasia' (1940), 'The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad' (1949) en 'The Wind in the Willows' (1949).
