John Rees werd geboren op 6 maart 1927 in Port Talbot, Wales, als John Morgan Rees. Hij was acteur en componist, bekend van Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Eye of the Needle (1981) en Doctor Who (1963). Hij overleed in oktober 1994 in Spanje.
