Kazunori Ito is een Japanse scenarioschrijver, vooral bekend om zijn werk in de .hack-franchise, de Patlabor-films en de film Ghost in the Shell. Hij is een van de oprichters van Headgear, een groep van vijf belangrijke schrijvers en artiesten, waaronder Masami Yuki, Yutaka Izubuchi, Akemi Takada en Mamoru Oshii. Ito is ook een fan van klassieke tokusatsu, wat leidde tot zijn werk aan de Gamera-trilogie van Shusuke Kaneko.
