Kumi Mizuno

Kumi Mizuno (水野久美 Mizuno Kumi), geboren als Maya Igarashi (五十嵐麻耶 Igarashi Maya), is een Japanse actrice. Ondanks het grote aantal films waarin ze in het begin van haar carrière verscheen, is Mizuno het meest bekend om haar rollen in Toho's kaijufilms uit de jaren 60, zoals Matango, Frankenstein vs. Baragon, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Ebirah, Horror of the Deep en The War of the Gargantuas. Haar meest iconische rol is ongetwijfeld die van de Xilien-agent Namikawa in Invasion of Astro-Monster. Ze werd zo'n cultfiguur onder kaijufans dat Toho haar in 2002 terughaalde voor een rol in Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla en opnieuw in 2004 voor Godzilla: Final Wars. Mizuno verscheen ook in Toho's toneelbewerking uit 2009 van hun sciencefictionfilm uit 1960, The Human Vapor.
