Leven en carriere
Geboren als Marlene Aloisio in Detroit, Michigan, koos Willoughby de achternaam 'Willoughby' voor haar professionele werk nadat iemand haar 'willowy' noemde vanwege haar slanke, 1,78 meter lange postuur. Ze volgde haar oudere zus, Jacqueline Carol, in een carrière in de showbusiness. In 1969 verscheen ze in de controversiële Off-Off-Broadway-productie Che! van Lennox Raphael. Andere theaterrollen volgden, waaronder de Obie Award-winnende producties Dracula Sabbat, Fuck Mother en Keepers of the Hippo Horn. Ze kreeg ook rollen in mainstream films zoals No Place to Hide (1970), Up the Sandbox (1972), I, the Jury (1982) en Trading Places (1983), en softcorewerk zoals Voices of Desire (1972) en While the Cat's Away... (1972). Na haar pensionering uit de pornografie verscheen ze ook in de mainstream film Married to the Mob (1988). Willoughby begon in 1975 met hardcore porno. Haar opmerkelijke optredens zijn onder andere The Opening of Misty Beethoven (1976), The Farmer's Daughters (1976), Outlaw Ladies (1981) en Foxtrot (1982). Ze verscheen in veel pornografische tijdschriften, met name Penthouse, en schreef columns voor bladen als High Society en Velvet. Ze organiseerde ook filmreleaseparty's en toerde als burleskedanser. Tijdens haar carrière in de porno stond Willoughby bekend als een activist die zich uitsprak voor de pornografische industrie.
