Michael Barnathan is een Amerikaanse filmproducent. Hij heeft films geproduceerd en als uitvoerend producent gewerkt aan onder andere 'Used People', 'The Help', de eerste drie Harry Potter-films, 'Rent', 'Cheaper by the Dozen' en 'Night at the Museum'. Ook was hij producent voor de filmadaptaties 'Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief' (2010) en 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters' (2013), gebaseerd op de boeken van Rick Riordan. Barnathan studeerde in 1980 af aan de Tisch School of the Arts van de New York University en is joods.
