Oliver Cotton

Na zijn opleiding aan het Drama Centre London heeft Oliver Cotton uitgebreid gewerkt in het Royal National Theatre, met rollen in producties als 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun', 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead', 'Much Ado About Nothing', 'As You Like It', 'Oedipus', 'In His Own Write', 'Hamlet', 'Tamburlaine', 'No Man's Land', 'The Passion', 'Despatches', 'Half Life', 'The World Turned Upside Down', 'Julius Caesar', 'The Madras House', 'The Man With the Flower in His Mouth', 'Tales from the Vienna Woods', 'The Crucible', 'Piano', 'Troilus and Cressida', 'Money', 'Summerfolk', 'The Villain's Opera' en 'Life x 3'. Bij het Royal Court Theatre speelde hij in onder meer 'The Local Stigmatic', 'The Duchess of Malfi', 'Man is Man', 'The Enoch Show', 'Erronenous Zones', 'The Tutor' van Brecht, 'Lear' en 'Bingo' van Edward Bond, en 'Piano/Forte' van Terry Johnson. Hij was medeoprichter van Joint Stock en speelde in hun eerste productie 'The Speakers' van Heathcote Williams. Bij het Royal Shakespeare Company vertolkte hij rollen in 'The Marrying of Ann Leete', 'Henry VI', 'Edward IV', 'Richard III', 'The Plain Dealer', 'Some Americans Abroad' van Richard Nelson, en 'Brand' van Ibsen. In het West End was hij te zien in onder andere 'The Homecoming' van Harold Pinter, 'Children of a Lesser God' van Mark Medoff, 'Benefactors' van Michael Frayn, 'An Ideal Husband' van Oscar Wilde, 'Life x 3' van Yasmina Reza, en 'Brand' van Ibsen. Ook speelde hij de titelrol in 'King Lear' in het Southwark Playhouse en Malvolio in de all-male productie van 'Twelfth Night' van Shakespeare's Globe. Zijn vele televisieoptredens omvatten series als 'The Borgias' (als Cesare Borgia), 'David Copperfield', 'The Year of the French', 'The Play on One', 'Redemption', 'Poirot', 'The Camomile Lawn', 'Westbeach', 'Zorro', 'Sharpe's Battle', 'Rhodes', 'All Quiet on the Preston Front', 'Innocents', 'Judge John Deed', 'Inspector Lynley', 'Waking the Dead', 'M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team', 'Beastly Games', 'Sensitive Skin', 'Midsomer Murders' en 'Hotel Babylon'.
