Richard Dreyfuss (geboren op 29 oktober 1947) is een Amerikaanse acteur. Sinds de late jaren zestig speelt hij in films, televisieseries en theaterproducties, waaronder 'American Graffiti', 'Jaws', 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', 'The Goodbye Girl', 'Stakeout', 'Always', 'What About Bob?' en 'Mr. Holland's Opus'. Hij won in 1977 de Academy Award voor Beste Acteur voor 'The Goodbye Girl' en werd in 1995 genomineerd voor 'Mr. Holland's Opus'. Daarnaast won hij een Golden Globe Award en een BAFTA Award, en werd hij in 2002 genomineerd voor Screen Actors Guild Awards in de categorieën Uitstekende Prestatie door een Mannelijke Acteur in een Dramaserie en Uitstekende Prestatie door een Mannelijke Acteur in een Televisiefilm of Miniserie.
