Leven en carriere
Saori Sugimoto (杉本 沙織, Sugimoto Saori, 17 november 1964) was een Japanse stemactrice en verteller uit Fujisawa, Kanagawa. Ze was verbonden aan Aoni Production. Eerder werkte ze onder de naam Saori Suzuki (鈴木 砂織, Suzuki Saori). Ze verving Tomiko Suzuki als de stem van Kisanta Yamamura in Nintama Rantarō vanaf seizoen 12. Ook sprak ze jarenlang de rol van Ramurin in de Shima Shima Tora no Shimajirō-serie, en later Nyakkii na het vertrek van Ramurin. Ze sprak de stem in voor verschillende Shimajiro-films, waaronder Shimajiro and Fufu's Big Adventure (2013), Shimajiro and the Whale's Song (2014), Shimajiro and the Mother Tree (2015), Shimajiro in Bookend (2016), Shimajiro and the Rainbow Oasis (2017), Shimajiro the Movie: Adventures on Magic Island (2018), Shimajiro and Ururu's Hero Island (2019), Shimajiro Sky and Bone (2021). Haar laatste rol was in Shimajiro and The Prince of Glittering Kingdom (2022), een jaar na haar overlijden. Ze overleed op 21 oktober 2021 aan hartfalen veroorzaakt door anorexia.
