Karakteracteur Shun Sugata (geboren als Masamichi Shibuya op 17 februari 1955) is een Japans acteur bekend om zijn gewelddadige en schurkachtige rollen. Hij is direct herkenbaar aan zijn diepe, rauwe stem en imposante postuur. Zijn meest opvallende rollen zijn de intimiderende bendelid Takayama in 'Ichi the Killer' van Takeshi Miike en de corrupte politiecommissaris in 'Tokyo Gore Police'. Hij had ook kleinere rollen in internationale films zoals 'Kill Bill' van Quentin Tarantino, 'The Last Samurai' en als de hoofdschurk tegenover Scott Adkins in 'Ninja 2'.
