View on mapDescription
Artist James Ensor (1860 - 1949) moved into this house in 1917, which he had inherited from his uncle Leopold Haegheman, who ran a shell and souvenir shop there. Ensor was 57 at the time. His most productive period was already behind him, and he began to gain international fame. In this townhouse, Ensor spent his long autumn years with his faithful manservant August Van Yper.
